Come join us for a morning at historic Churchill Downs! We'll begin our “behind the scenes” tour with a hearty cafeteria-style southern breakfast at the track kitchen while watching Kentucky Derby equine hopefuls run their morning workouts. After breakfast, we'll walk through the trainers' barns, see the Grandstand, the Finish Line and Winner's Circle as our tour guide walks us through the Downs. This will include a visit with the resident thoroughbred and his companion, a miniature horse. At the close of the walking tour, we'll take in the Derby Museum and gift shop and have an opportunity to watch a fifteen-minute video titled “The Greatest Race.” Wear comfortable walking shoes.
Bus transportation will be provided by our friends at Kentucky State University. Thank you KSU!
7:45 a.m. Bus leaves hotel lobby for Churchill Downs
11:30 Bus leaves Churchill Downs and returns to the hotel by noon
Reservation Policy:
Reservations will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis and will be processed when both the registration form and payment are received. No call-in reservations will be accepted. An e-mail confirmation will follow.
Cancellation Policy:
A short waiting list will be compiled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need to cancel, please do so in writing to Abbie Misso at abbiem@srdc.msstate.edu . We have made a financial commitment to the Derby Museum, so no refunds will be made until a substitute from the waiting list is identified and paid for the slot you've vacated. No refunds will be made after the tour.
