Museum for Guided Tour
Constructed in 1833 in the Greek
Revival style of architecture, this National Historic Landmark is the
oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi River.
Known throughout Arkansas for its quiet elegance and historical significance,
the Old Statehouse Museum gained worldwide recognition when it was used
as the setting for President Bill Clinton's election night speeches
and celebrations in 1992 and 1996.
Permanent exhibits include Arkansas'
First Families featuring first ladies' gowns; original 1836 House of
Representatives Chamber; Pillars of Power, history of the Old State
House; As Long as Life Shall Last; From the Old State House to the White
House and more.
