Kentucky State Report

Following this meeting, we will:

. Share information on different structure of councils
. Shorten quarterly video updates
. Suggest that the more meetings, the more successful a program will be

. Report to the state council, which will let information filter down

. Training of councils: state, area, and county

. Holding more than one meeting a year and meet in more than one location

Louisiana State Report

Following this meeting, we will:

. Get buy-in for advisory leadership committees
. Show it can help reporting system to embrace a system that will be statewide
. Develop a solid foundation for advisory leadership first then bring in volunteers; volunteers will make the plan work.

Mississippi State Report

Following this meeting, we will share the need for:

. A strong marketing program for advisory leadership
. Buy-in of advisory council

We will recommend:
. District training, which would include people skills, team building, diversity training
. Recruiting non-extension users to be part of the advisory council and training to support that
. Begin early with job descriptions and general training
. A team to help with restructuring advisory council from all levels

. Restructuring will delay final implementation plans

North Carolina State Report

Following this meeting, we will:

. Make sure we move outward, not inward - "scatter"
. Move to a higher level of involvement through training in counties
. Stress critical personal development and facilitate competencies
. Stress that every agent is critical to the advisory leadership system
. Develop a tool to involve counties in discussing the issues from this conference

Texas State Report

Following this meeting, we will share information with colleagues concerning:

. Existing county ALS resources be tweaked to include issue teams, action teams, collaborations
. Present system be maintained
. ALS be connected to mentoring, new agent training and performance appraisal
. Recognize-communicate county ALS results across state through newsletters, e-mail, etc.
. Take a proactive approach and ask question if state ALS is needed
. Explore purpose and function
. Could a state ALS strengthen our contact with legislators?
