Chair Carolyn Nobles called the group to order and thanked all for being present. Minutes from the December 5 and 6 meeting were approved (Mosby/Glenn).

Advisor David Foster reported that a meeting has been set for March 14 and 15 for the PLC Organization Task Force. More information will be provided to the group after their meeting.

Ron Brown indicated that dates have been set for the ASRED efforts entitled Cooperative Extension Curriculum Project (CECP) and the E-Extension. The CECP meeting will be held January 22 and 23 and the E-Extension meeting will be held March 26 and 27.

The Southern Region Program Committee Meeting agenda for August 2002 was discussed. It was noted that Kevin Hayes has confirmed Wendell Bailey for the general session presentation on Monday. Bonnie reported that she had made preliminary contact with Chip Eichelberger. He is available, but would require an honorarium of $2,000 plus expenses. Robin Glenn reported that she had made contact with Beverly Washington and would get more complete details and share with the group.

Committee Reports:

Agriculture and Natural Resources--Ross Love indicated that he had nothing to report other than their Spring meeting would be held in April in Salt Lake City.

Communications and Information Technology--Gloria Mosby reported that her committee is working to correct language on publications to assure 1890 administrators of their concerns. The Committee has a conference call scheduled later in the month and will finalize their involvement in the August meeting.

Community Development--It was reported that the Committee would be meeting February 24 in conjunction with the National Community Resources and Economic Development conference in Orlando.

4-H Youth Development--No action items to report.

Family and Consumer Sciences--Sarah Anderson reported on various activities from the Committee. They have special task forces on funding, diabetes education, funding for after school programs. She also reported that one of their members, Lynda Harriman from Oklahoma, had received the FCS Distinguished Service Award.

Middle Management--No action items to report. The Committee is working on the 2003 meeting and as information becomes available it will be shared with the PLC.

Program and Staff Development--No action items to report. The group has set a conference call date and will provide more information later, including the various subcommittees from the group that are providing leadership in ongoing program and staff development efforts.
