Rick Maurer welcomed new members to the Southern Program Leadership Committee as follows:
- Clint Depew, Louisiana State University
- Kevin Hayes, Oklahoma State University
- Charles Shepherd, Alcorn State University
- Robin Glenn, South Carolina State University
- Helen Brooks, Alcorn State University
It was noted that Carolyn Reedus, Alabama A&M University is the new 1890 representative on Program and Staff Development Committee.
Committees were again reminded of the following:
Evaluation forms will be picked up during morning sessions
- CSREES Listening Session, October 23 in New Orleans. Clint Depew will be providing on-site stakeholder input on behalf of Extension. Rick Maurer also agreed to prepare a draft letter on behalf of the Southern PLC. The letter would include who all PLC represents as well as to make a case for support of Extension activities.
- Engagement Experiences. The group was reminded by Ron Brown of the need for successful engagement experiences that could be included in the 21st Century report.
- Committee Reports to be submitted no later than September 12 to Bonnie Teater
- Results of the Multi-State Discussions submitted to Bonnie Teater
Election of Officers
Carolyn Nobles was elected as chair for the Southern PLC. Charles Cox was elected as chair-elect. Both were elected by acclamation.
