Call to Order
Minutes of Previous Conference Call approved as corrected (spelling of two program leader's names).

Annual work plan update:
Nayda Torres - childhood overweight and obesity conference e-mail sent to mail group with additional information. Conference to take place Feb 15 - 17, Orlando FLA. SR Directors supporting conference. Teams attending the conference will work on plan of action to reach goals set as part of conference. Topics include motivation; public health partnership; tackling overweight one community at a time; evaluation indicators; and share fair. Conference registration is $125. A maximum of 100 persons may attend and several states will submit multiple registrations. Other conferences are being held in Iowa and Missouri. SRPLs are encouraged to attend.

FCS modules - Ellen Murphy
Meeting in Atlanta was extremely successful, with 45 faculty members from the region participating. Competency areas selected team chairs & co-chairs, made plans of proposed models to develop, set deadlines, and moving ahead in the right direction. Team chairs include Sue Badenhof, Sharon Robinson, Diane Sasser, Bobbi Clark, and Jorge Atiles.

4 modules will be completed by next SRPL meeting. The e-extension initiative moving on fast-forward and CCEP project will be merged into e-extension.

Margaret Hale: Sharon Robinson is expressing concern about lack of knowledge about dream weaver application for posting on web. TX is identifying an individual to help with that.

Jorge Atiles has housing competencies module underway. A listserv of housing specialists has been established. A first draft has been compiled by several states and will be sent out for review before April conference call.

FSNEP
No one knows anything about funding future. States discussed approval process. Florida indicted t hey would not apply in the next round of applications.

Guidelines for retirement gifts
Diana & Thelma are still working on guidelines, will have by April conference call.

Advisors Update
Thanks from the Directors for working on CCEP. The SR is leading the pack. At the Directors & Administrators national meeting in Nashville, they will discuss e-extension. Dick Wooten is planning to retire, and the search on-going. Dick is Executive Director for the Directors/NASULGC)). Other topics that will be addressed are the FY 06 budget & legislative agenda; 4-H logo; federal plan of work; food systems leadership institute; and the possibility of merging the ESCOP and NELD leadership programs. Robert Andrews author of Begging for Change, will be a keynote speaker. Helen Chipman has sent an update on FSNEP. It is recommended that program leaders look to expand funding streams beyond those at USDA. It was recommended that there be collaboration by FCS and CRD in the area of agromedicine.

State Updates
Diana - focus on nutrition with 25 students to participate in human nutrition course.

Sue - Georgia is working to get a health initiative funded for joint 4H and FCS programming.

Lynn - survey on adequate staffing & funding of FCS is in draft form and will be sent to SRPLs within a couple of weeks (on-line survey). Results will be compiled and shared with SRPLs.
