County Government Officials Training Program, CTP

By law, this is a joint effort between OCES and OSU’s Center for Local Government Technology, an arm of Engineering Extension.

Local (mostly county) Government Financial Analysis

Statewide statistical reports, some funded.

Professional publications.

4-State Heartland Community Development Conference

AR, KS, MO, and OK Extension hosted annual conference. Themes address regional needs in rural development.

Research, reports, publications, and presentations regarding local government finance issues.

Address current vital needs of rural communities such as water, technology infrastructure, tourism development, and transportation, with national and regional experts, discussion groups, and community success stories.

Assist communities in identifying alternative strategies for economic diversification. Training provided along with technical assistance such as: data/trends analysis; retail trade/gap analysis; economic impact analysis; business retention/expansion; and target industry analysis.

Education program for front line employees and managers designed to enhance hospitality and promote quality customer service.

Multi-disciplinary team project (4H, Ag, FCS, RD) designed to promote efforts in community assistance. Includes a Sun-Up segment (weekly) as well as a web presence.
